Classes in kindergartens
WHAT HAPPENS IN A SESSION
Children sing and dance, play games and pretend, and it's always a different adventure! We have hundreds of themes covering a wide range of topics, so one week we may fly to the moon, the next take our poorly cat to the vets and the next swim in the ocean with a friendly shark. We don't use props and costumes and we aren't trying to train child actors either. Pyjama Drama harnesses the power of the imagination to nurture confident, expressive, curious and happy children.
Lots of our sessions have been developed to teach children to learn and explore their world; starting big school, going to the dentist or looking after a new baby brother or sister. All preschools who book with Pyjama Drama continue to do so because our classes show development in skills such as communication, cooperation, confidence and concentration, and most importantly they are lots of fun!
WHICH CLASS IS RIGHT FOR MY CHILD?
Because children develop at such astonishing speeds, we offer three different age-groups:
RAINDROPS : 2 to 3 years old (Toddlers who are starting to discover the amazing world that is their imagination)
RAINBOWS : 4 to 5 years old (Preschool children who are becoming increasingly independent and whose imaginations are blossoming)
SUNBEAMS : 6 to 7 years old (School children who are capable of producing their own ideas when creating stories)
HOW MANY CHILDREN CAN YOU TAKE?
Because our drama is child-led, we keep our numbers small at 10 for our Raindrops & Rainbows classes and up to 14 children for Sunbeams classes. This is to ensure every child has the opportunity to play a starring role, in what is very often a highly physical and energetic class.
HOW OFTEN WE VISIT
Pyjama Drama visits nurseries and preschools weekly, some once a month or every half term, and some just once in a while; to help celebrate Hari Merdeka or Deepavali for example. As every child grows and develops in their own pace, participation of a minimum of 2 years is highly recommended to produce definitive results.
WHY DO YOU HAVE TO SIGN UP FOR A TERM?
Pyjama Drama has been shown to have real demonstrable benefit for a child’s development and the effect is cumulative; many parents tell us that they see this after only 3 weeks. After this short amount of time a child may develop the confidence to join in a game on their own or take on a role in the drama, sit with concentration and listen to the leader or learn to take turns with their new friends!
